Not content to be outdone by many of the industry heavyweights, CD Baby has launched a new streaming pre-save campaign to give indie musicians a marketing advantage.
Under the title Show.co, the platform allows artists the opportunity to launch a myriad of campaigns in an effort to garner an audience, build lists and promote new music. Advantages for fans and music listeners is the opportunity to follow the artist on Spotify, subscribe to the artists YouTube channel, participate in a contest and participate in music premieres. Following the Noise Trade platform, Show.co also offers artists the opportunity to trade music singles for a fan’s email address.
Now in its 21st year, CD Baby continues to be a leading online retailer for independent musicians, selling CDs, vinyls and music downloads as well as being a digital aggregator for independent musicians. One of CD Baby’s calling cards is that it allows artists to set their price point for selling physical CDs. As a result, CD Baby retains a fraction of the sale and the rest is distributed out to the artist on a weekly basis.
Now with the launch of Show.co, CD Baby is poised to chart a new course for independent artists in 2018 and beyond. We’re certainly looking forward to seeing how this plays out in the weeks and months to come.
